Thickman Lecture: A Lakota Winter Count
Sheridan College History Faculty instructor Donovin Sprague will present the Thickman Faculty Lecture “A Lakota Winter Count” on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 6pm in the Whitney Center for the Arts room #235.
The winter buffalo count is a yearly historical record of the most important event of the year for the Plains Indians. The presentation will include information about an undocumented winter count recorded by Sprague’s great, great grandfather.
