As the single largest source of unrestricted gifts to the College, the Annual Fund stands as the foundation of our fundraising programs. Our donors’ investment with Sheridan College Foundation has made it possible for the College to move into the future. Your unrestricted gift for Areas of Greatest Need, added to that of other generous supporters, will make it possible for the College to give our students the tools they need to achieve their educational goals.

An endowment gift enables donors to create a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of our students through a perpetual source of scholarship funds. Scholarships can be an important factor in determining where academically talented students choose to pursue their education. Your gift can establish a new endowment fund or be added to an existing one. Minimum support levels for endowments have been established in order to guarantee that the income from the funds will be adequate to support a scholarship. Endowed gifts are also gladly accepted for specific program support or for unrestricted use. For more information on establishing a new endowed fund or adding to an existing one, please contact the Sheridan College Foundation.
Alumni and friends of Sheridan College may have personal or professional interests they wish to support with their gifts to the College. Through a bequest, gift to the Annual Fund, gift to a Named or Endowed Scholarship, gift of life insurance, property, stock or other such avenue a donor can leave a legacy at Sheridan College in his or her name or honor a family member, relative, friend, or college faculty member. Please contact the Foundation office for more information.
A matching gift is an employer-sponsored program to encourage philanthropy among company employees in support of their chosen charity or organization. The matching gift program enables many donors to increase the impact of their contributions as most companies will match dollar for dollar, and some will double or triple match employee gifts. For more information, please contact the Sheridan College Foundation.
Gifts of stock are tax deductible at the full fair market value. Please contact the Foundation Office for transfer instructions. Click here for our contact information.
Sheridan College Foundation may accept gifts of property on behalf of the College or for purposes fulfilling the foundation’s mission. Gifts of tangible personal property require special consideration to insure that such property can be used, maintained, or disposed of in a manner consistent with the wishes of the donor and the purposes of the Foundation and the College.  Please contact the Foundation office for more information.
A bequest to Sheridan College is a powerful expression of your faith in the future of the College. An estate gift provides significant future support to Sheridan College. You can provide for the College in your will or in a trust. The full value of a bequest is deductible for federal estate tax purposes, and there is no limit to the size of a bequest. Bequests can be a specific dollar amount or asset, a percentage or the “residue” of your estate. It can be restricted (to be used for a specific purpose) or unrestricted (to be used for general purposes at the college).

If you are considering a bequest to Sheridan College please contact the Foundation office. We can work with you or your adviser to document the intent of your gift, assuring your wishes for the gift are fulfilled.

Gifts of life insurance provide a way for donors to make a sizable future gift that might not otherwise be possible. A donor may donate a paid-up life insurance policy, purchase a new policy and name Sheridan College Foundation as owner and beneficiary or simply name us as a beneficiary. For the gift of a paid-up policy, the donor will be entitled to an income tax deduction equal to the lesser of the cash value of the policy or the total premiums paid. To qualify for a charitable deduction, the donor must name the College owner and beneficiary and not retain any “incidents of ownership”. Please contact the Sheridan College Foundation for more information.
Gifts can honor the memory of loved ones or show your appreciation while supporting a worthy purpose of your choice – whether financial aid to students, academic programs, technology and teaching resources, athletics or other programs. To establish a memorial or honor fund please contact the Sheridan College Foundation.
