Hannah Jernigan, a Sheridan College alumna, together with co-authors and Sheridan College life science instructors Scott Newbold and Julie Rieder, presented research last month at the Front Range Student Ecology Symposium at Colorado State University.
Jernigan, from Cheyenne, graduated from Sheridan College in May 2015 with her associate degree in biology. Her research investigated choices made by nesting Mountain Bluebirds for small or large nest boxes over a three-year span and was conducted along an eastern footslope of the Bighorn Mountains just west of Sheridan, Wyoming. Colton Hodge was not a musical prodigy; he didn’t even learn to read music until a few years ago. But he has always had a talent and passion for music that eventually led him to master the viol da gamba.
Hodge graduated from Sheridan College in May with his Associate of Fine Arts in music. This fall, he will begin his first semester at Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, to pursue his bachelor’s degree in historical performance. “I always wanted to go to college for music but had been told by many people that it was too late for me, because I didn’t have a background in music or have musical theory skills,” he said. The SC Alumni Association hosted a bonfire for Future Alumni. Even in the midst of rain it was a fun evening and a great way to connect our Alma Mater to Future Alumni! We look forward to hosting more fun networking events!!
A fantastic night at Sheridan’s 3rd Thursday street festival! Sheridan College Student Partners, Women’s Basketball players, Foundation employees/board members, and some of our awesome Alumni greeted the community sharing information on the Sheridan College Alumni Association!!
We were so fortunate to have the Dental Hygiene Class of 2007 Alumni on campus for a tour during their 10 year reunion recently. All of the reminiscing revealed a bond that will forever be held by these fine Sheridan College Alumni.

Hunter Carlson, current Sheridan College student and member of the Champion Generals Rodeo Team, did his rodeo coach proud riding bareback broncs at the WYO Rodeo. The hometown crowd showed their appreciation for the Sheridan College cowboy, giving him a loud ovation after his last ride. He did not place, but the experience was invaluable.

On July 16, 2017, he won his third straight Saddle Bronc riding Championship at Calgary, taking home a $100,000 check. Zeke is the first cowboy to ever win three straight Saddle Bronc Championships at the Calgary Stampede. In addition to his accomplishments in Calgary, he is also the 2016 National Finals Rodeo World Champion Saddle Bronc rider.
