Thickman Lecture – “Let Evening Come”

Tyler Julian, HSSW, Associate Professor of English will present “Let Evening Come”,  Post-Pastoral Poetry and Writing Rural Spaces.

Tyler will discuss how rural spaces and agricultural communities have been portrayed in literature over time,  and how our understanding of rural life has evolved through classical and contemporary poetry. He will also show what authentic representation of rural places and their people looks like in literature.  He will also present a reading of his work making rural poetry come to life.
