Alumni Spotlight – Ty Fauber ’18

Ty Fauber ’18 thrives on connections—and on giving back. Since returning to Sheridan, he has poured his time and energy into the place that shaped him, volunteering and serving on numerous boards and committees.

“I just love Sheridan County people and our community,” Ty says. “We have so many generous, caring individuals and foundations doing incredible work here. They’ve inspired me to want to make a difference in whatever way I can. I want the Fauber name to mean something special.”

Ty’s journey began right at home. He chose Sheridan College for its strong Engineering program and its affordability. “I was able to live at home and save money, earned a scholarship, and secured a Whitney Benefits loan to cover the rest. I completed most of my Engineering degree here and only needed one year at UW to finish my bachelor’s.”

After graduating from the University of Wyoming, Ty returned to Sheridan, working for six years at Range as an Outside Plant Engineer. He now serves as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager at MC2.

While he is proud of his career, Ty says his true passion lies in strengthening his community. “I love meeting people from all walks of life and learning from their experiences. I surround myself with individuals who share my vision of making our community the best it can be.”

That mindset led Ty to become one of the youngest members of several local organizations, including the Sheridan County Chamber Ambassadors, the Sheridan Pilots Association, the Western Society of Engineering, the Leadership Sheridan County steering committee, and the Sheridan College Alumni Association.

It’s unusual to see someone so young involved on so many levels—but Ty thrives on it. “I just love it here,” he says. “I believe the relationships I build today will help me in my mission to keep the Sheridan area great while helping it grow in a positive way.”

If his efforts are any indication, Ty Fauber is already well on his way to making the Fauber name one to remember!
