Joyce Barlow Reedy, RDH – 2001 Distinguished Alum

joyce reedy A 1980 graduate of the college’s Dental Hygiene program, Reedy has established an innovative approach to preventive dental care, in which patient education and responsibility is emphasized. She opened Reedy’s Dental Hygiene Clinic, a preventive oral health clinic, in 1990 to provide oral health education and therapy.

As a leader in her community in both business and health care, Reedy was honored with the 2001 Athena Award, a Zonta International award for community leadership and participation. Zonta International is a worldwide organization of business executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women.

Her memories of Sheridan College, as well as the community of Sheridan, bring smiles of joy. “I made the decision to get an education to better my life. After getting to Sheridan from southeast Colorado and establishing friends, the two years there were a time of growth and strengthening as an individual. Little did I know it was the springboard to an exciting journey.”
