SC TRIO Students go to Kenya

Sheridan College TRIO students recently had the chance to experience a service learning trip to Kenya. Hector Martinez of the Sheridan Press wrote an article that was published in the April 30, 2024 Sheridan Press about the amazing opportunities the students were afforded on this trip.

SHERIDAN — Sheridan College TRIO students were given the opportunity to experience a different culture as they took part in a 14-day service-learning trip to Kenya, Africa.

The TRIO Program aims to help qualifying students complete their degrees and transfer to a four-year college. The program has been giving students the opportunity to take these service-learning trips since 2018.

Eight students and four staff left for Kenya in late March and stayed in the Ololaimutiek Village in Narok County and Waithaka within Nairobi.
