NWCCD Offers 8 Week Classes, Funding
NWCCD offers students another chance to enroll, receive funding
Northern Wyoming Community College District is offering students another chance to enroll this fall. A wide variety of eight-week courses will begin on Oct. 15, and federal and local funding is available to eligible students. The majority of courses will be online with some offered in-person at Sheridan College, Gillette College or Sheridan College in Johnson County.
Online courses, such as Intro to Entrepreneurship, Public Speaking, English I and Introduction to Chemistry, are available to start or continue a degree program. Students can access online content when it best suits their individual schedules, making these courses appropriate for those with families and/or full time jobs. Some courses offered will fulfill general education requirements and may be attractive to college-aged students who want to start or continue a degree program or need to get back on track with their academic goals.
“Getting your degree is one of the most important actions you can take to safeguard your future, which is even more apparent during these uncertain times,” said NWCCD President Dr. Walt Tribley. “We are proud to be able to give students another chance to start or continue a degree this fall and potentially receive money to pay for college.”
Students who enroll may be eligible for CARES Act grants, Wyoming Works dollars and other scholarships depending on their unique situation. Many of these funding opportunities are only available during the fall 2020 semester. To be eligible for funding, students must enroll in at least one course and have filled out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA.
All courses starting on Oct. 15 are 8-weeks long and will conclude on Dec. 10, the end of the fall semester. For a full list of courses available and more information, visit www.sheridan.edu/classes.
